Based on how the story has been so far and how dark it has been, it would feel fitting in a sense that Nick does die, also page 92 what July says kind of foreshadows that as well.

@ Darlumina From the stuff I've seen on Zootopia, both on disk and from various online things about the movie, the reason that it looks like it was changed was because the story just didn't seem to work.
That much of the whole collar storyline, was A) based around nick, who was terribly cynical, and brought the overall tone of the movie down, and the one scene with the pappa bear giving his cub one of the shock collars for his birthday. It was a great scene, but it was to much of an anchor for the entire movie. The fact they had to change the direction of the movie midstream, shows a level of bravery that you rarely see in moviemakers anymore.
The fact that Mead acknowledges this, takes it down the darker road, but still manages to maintain the feel of the original, and balances the dark and the light sides of the story speaks volumes on this guy's ability.
I'm so glad he's able to do this because I'm seeing way to many zootopia fan comics become outright depressfics.

I waited until the very end before I made any comment. Now that it's over all I can say is, "This was an amazing series." While reading through it as a comic it was playing out in my head like an animated T.V. series, and it was amazing. I know Disney will not make something as semi-dark as this into an animated series, but I still a great experience all the same. And the afterlife scene really drove the whole series home for me. Now there are some moments that I hate were unresolved or given less screen time. While I hate that for some moments, it works for others. So it's a little mixed. But it is still an amazing comic series and I'm glad I like everyone else here followed it through to the end. My final score for this series is 4.7 out of 5. Again an amazing series, some unresolved moments take away, but not too much, and still comes out amazing. Great work MEAD and I hope to see more amazing things from you and hope you can make a great career out of your work.
