Apparently Mai exists in future Trunk's timeline as a young woman somehow and they have some kind of undefined relationship. That plus present day Mai being with young Trunks equals this.

Mai, whatshisface, and dog guy got the dragonballs when they were old and wished to be young. They are trunks and gotens age in super.

Mai was portrayed to be a conservative woman in regards to dating and sexual activities in dragon ball, but honestly I think of her as a closet pervert since she does express lewd thoughts in db.

Pilaf made a wish about being young again, but forgot to define his wish. He, mai and the fox guy were all turned into children as a result, the similar age as Trucks and Goten.

I think the Mai in Super is not supposed to be the same one from the original Dragonball. Maybe they retconned the Pilaf gang from Dragonball or something. Though in the DBZ: Battle of Gods movie, they did mention that the Pilaf gang did wished themselves back into children by accident but they seemed to have removed this part from Super.

In Future Trunk's timeline, PIlaf made a wish to turn himself, Mai and Shuu young, it turned them into babies. Sadly, a mere moment afterwords, Piccolo was killed by the Androids, so it was the final wish on those Dragon Balls.

As such, Mai is the same age Trunks is in Future Trunks's timeline.

And, yes, same Mai from Dragonball.
