Is the the guy intentionally making an ironic statement about "censorship is killing the industry?" When I saw the names Kancil and Kencur I immediately thought "Cancel" and "Censor", but if there's supposed to be some metaphor/parable here I'm not seeing it.

Not really. "Kancil" and "Kencur" are just Indonesian names, albeit uncommon (or maybe totally common in villages and I'm just being an ignorant big city boy).

Holy pixelation, Batman!

Well, that aside, this was an interesting, if short, story. And I like the artstyle... I'd probably like it more without pixels so here's to hoping somebody decensors this at some point.
