Why should some group of people get all bent out of shape and go apeshit over what someone chose to using SU or any other character? I've seen hundreds of cartoon and anime charcters doing somethings I've imagined them doing and some I never thought of them doing. Beginning to wonder if anyone bothered to look into the whole "artist almost killed themselves because of SU fans" thing or not. She was getting hounded by Homestuck and MLP fans too, and even released a video herself saying that she doesn't want people to get into fights about her, and she doesn't want to be some random martyr for "artistic freedom". I could be wrong, but I believe in the video she directly said the reason she tried to kill herself was because of all the fights her drawings caused, so if you want to find someone to blame, it's everyone arguing about Paige. I'm sure most people just want a moral reason to finally justify hating the fans of this show though, so they'll ignore something as simple as facts. What can ya do?

As for this comic, it's Pal! It's always terrible. Don't know why this is getting so much attention tbh, and if it was commissioned to "stick it to those tumblr faggots", I can't believe you couldn't think of a better way to waste that money, especially a target that's so easy to piss off like Tumblr lmao. I regret that Rebecca Sugar decided to throw caution to the wind, pull the blinders off, and go full blown pride parade with Garnet and Pearl. Every fan base has it's zealots and shippers but once she confirmed that Ruby and Saphire were in love with each other and Pearl had a HUGE crush on Rose. Tumblr, Reddit and all the other sad aspie hangouts went bat shit and the fan base just exploded. I bet most of these trolling ass hats didn't give two fucks about this show, until the reviews by the critics started circulating around the net after the end of the Jail Break season finale. Then all of a sudden, the bleeding heart Social Justice Warriors started coming out in droves and attacking people for not believing Pearl was in love with Rose like that or completely losing their minds every time someone would point out that Gems are genderless and or sexless and just prefer to use female forms and attacking these people who from their POV do not see Gems as homosexual in a traditional human sense. These same people didn't think much of this show at the beginning and chances are high that some of them didn't even start watching until the writers started putting gay representation in it, now they have more or less hijacked the show for their own ideals and championing their liberal views while at the same time harassing viewers who didn't come here for soap box preaching fans telling them this is how you must appreciate it or your a bigot or ignorant. Some of us came here for the witty comedy, and character development. It's not all about "Ooooh Ruby and Saphire ur supar kawaii!!! I ship them sooper haaard!!!" or "If you don't think Pearl was in love with Rose, then you are an idiot and blind to your own bigotry!"

It's stupid shit like that which takes the fun out of any show.

I followed this show since it debuted, back when people didn't know what to make of it and it was sort of a quirky little novelty show with witty writing and aside from the token shippers, I don't remember the SJW's being so out of control and bullying social terrorists ruining it for a lot of people. They didn't start glomming onto SU like the parasites they are until all the social media fall out after the ending of season 1. Im disgusted by all the bullying that almost got an artist killed. It's ironic that Rebecca Sugar was trying to teach tolerance and diversity with Steven Universe, and it wound up creating a contingent of bullies who are harassing people for not conforming to their ideology of how the characters should look.

I understand the show has been renewed for more episodes. I hope to hell they step off the Garnet Fusion and Pearl stories for awhile. All it does at this point is feed flame wars. On the bright side of things. At least SU didn't pussy foot around about relationships like that lame crap the writers over at Nick pulled in Legend Of Korra. Some VERY subtle token hints at a relationship that wasn't there until the very end of the show, and as Korra and Asami walk off, they basically turn around and say "We're dating!!!" as the credits roll, trying to salvage something resembling cutting edge writing after Nick totally screwed up the flow of the series with their game of red light, green light! That's another toxic fanbase: The Korrasami zealots who worship the two head writers of Avatar that basically said "Go fuck yourself" if you had a problem with the ending.

I agree with observer1980 on this one. When I first started watching this show I didn't think much of it. The first part of season 1 was shallow, kind of dull, and generally lack luster. It seemed like just another odd CN show that probably wasn't going to get past its first season and was going to be just another statistic of throwing something at the wall and seeing if it sticks. Thankfully I was dead wrong, but this SJW nonsense has to stop. The irony that a show dedicated to tolerance and understanding of others not like yourself breeding this radical subset fanbase boggles my mind. There's loyalty and than there's sheer insanity. SJW are insane, through and though, and there's little if anything that going to change their minds or beliefs. Even if Rebecca herself came out to blast them I doubt it would do little other than fan the flame.

I honestly don't mind the connotative homosexuality in the show since I think it's done rather tastefully. Ruby and Sapphire do kind of get to be a little much since I'm more interested in who they are when they aren't Garnet or aren't flirting with each other. I think we might see more of that with the way Peridot is tying into the story, but we'll see. As for Peal, yeah she can be a little obsessed with Rose, but she has a fairly tragic love story considering the circumstances of her kind being little more than servants so I don't think the rational for her actions and feelings are unreasonable. Between Yellow Diamond, Lapis, Jasper, and the cluster the show has way more interesting things to go on to keep running with Pearl and Garnet's love stories.

And now to side note: Where the fuck is Lapis and Jasper? Does anyone else feel like their ark got completely fucking hijacked and fell off the face of the earth? Don't get me wrong, I love Peridot but come the fuck on. They better have some real mind blowing shit planed for those two because storyboard is like "BOARD NOW, time for loli Peridot and Dead Space Cronenbergs!"
