I always kind of liked the idea that a furry was a hybrid of a human and an animal. Following that, A human and a furry would then create a neko-like being. You know in any story like this, everyone involved makes their own decisions as adults, so it's all good. But I'm always a bit skeptical when an artist throws in these happy go lucky kids born of these situations. I'm quite sure EVERYONE here knows that kid who had "that" mom, especially in small towns. I know I did, and what followed were rules and regulations of how not to have any kind of social bonding with "that" kid or his family. If not that, it was the taunting "that" kid would receive from other kids or even adults.

I like to think that Jay's universe is considerably less Puritanical than the one many of us live in.
Maybe in that world, a woman who enjoys canine lovers and bearing canine children without getting married is just treated like everyone else?
There are some hints, like with her dad, that stress exists between some humans and furries, yes.
But Lupe strikes me as the kind of woman who can handle herself, and her children will grow up happy and healthy because their strong, loving Latina mother cared for them (and taught them that those who would tease them can suck it). If I read that panel with the pups right, Audrey is one of Lupe's children, and she grew up to be a normal, happy transwoman. :3

And sometimes you just want to see someone try something different. Like I'd like a naylor story that didn't involve 1+ adulterous women or at least one where reality happened. Movies about sin are fine in moderation, but when that's all that's playing you get sick of it like anything else.
