I always loved the robot designs, but absolutely hated the writing. Its like the creators looked at Pokemon and Digimon and thought '...we can do dumber.' (How dumb? The American version of the anime is a re-write so the entire plot and nearly all character motivation is stripped out. The manga version is even worse and the games pretend to be an entirely different franchise.)
