Backgrounds are a bit vague, but after the setting is established they're mostly unecessary. Some of the art angles are a little weird, and nor pleasing to the eye, and the font choice on the part of the translator is very distracting - I think it's because the font is elaborate whereas the manga itself is rather simplistically drawn.
