Why must we conform to an actual translation group rather than the work itself? If you're such a YQII fan, then you could always patiently wait for his release, and it wouldn't change anything (I myself do that sometimes for the anime I watch). Whereas people that don't care about any translation group in general, would just go for speed TL's instead.

It often feels like people jump on fan bandwagons way too easily.

@ Zantos: This isn't about fanboys or who gets to translate what, it's about wasted potential. Anyone can translate whatever the hell they want, and everybody knows that, but...

This little post made by YQII explains why he would go to all the trouble of posting on the raws gallery, his site and other forums when he's going to translate a piece so other groups know (and possibly contact him to work together), so we don't end up with two translations of the same piece instead of two completely different works to enjoy, and with YQII being a veteran with almost 700 fucking translations under his belt and known to be and excellent translator and editor that have already worked on several of Yukimi's works (including his 2 previous kancolle works), it's understandable that others translators would leave this one to YQII and focus their attention on another untranslated manga or doujin.

Not to mention what PSYN team folks already pointed out, rushed translations with no QC can't be that good if even veterans with QC commit mistakes from time to time (like typos or untranslated bubbles), it happens. Take your time.
