I don't know about "no zombies", this world does seem to have some sort of threat around. Why else would they be stocking up on ammo? And the "no hope" message written in blood isn't something people would leave in a non-violent environment. There's certainly something out there but it is nevertheless interesting that the nature of the danger is left ambiguous up to the reader's imagination.

Well, the dragon character doesn't have boobs because apparently they're not a female. A lot of people fell into this trap it seems, including myself, but looking a bit more into it the dragon is actually a cuntboy. In the raws when he says "me" or "I" he's using the "ore" pronoun while Shawn is using "boku", both are male pronouns but the former is characterized as brash and confident while the latter is humble. The translation is still accurate, it's just the nature of first and second person pronouns in English creates gender ambiguity when there's none in Japanese. But yeah, all the doujins featuring this dragon are tagged as "yaoi" on doujinshi.org. Also, these books are printed in the A5 format which is commonly used for yaoi, doujins that feature females are usually printed in B5.

Re-reading this comic with that in mind actually makes more sense now, like on page 9 he's asking Shawn how it feels to put his penis in a person's "hole", since he doesn't have one.. And all of a sudden the subtle boyish features in his design become a lot more apparent.
