Well, she said she went to high school like a normal student, and lived like a normal girl until she was abducted, so I think it's safe to assume that the girl grew up in a seemingly regular, relatively modern day human society. If anything, judging by how Zinovy started his story about his acquisition by mentioning he was browsing in a pet shop, and how the girl doesn't seem to recognize Zinovy's language at all (as opposed to just not understanding the language), it seems most likely that she was plucked from a 'setting' where such creatures as Zinovy are not present.

Ultimately though, this seems to be a setting where you're supposed to think as little as possible about the setting, is my impression. Otherwise it gets dark and disturbing very quickly, and that does not appear to be the intent of the work.

I've wandered into the weir-scratch that, weirder part of the internet. and it's some how heartwarming and adorable? When did kidnapping become heartwarming and adorable?

The basic premise doesn't really hold up under scrutiny on multiple points, but the follow through is quite well executed, and it's so well written you don't even mind that you are tacitly cheering for a situation whose particulars are really Not Alright. The way this story is heading...I want to see where it goes. I am thankful that the plot is taking a slow, character based approach. even though it's painful waiting for new pages, I'm glad it is such a long story.

...There is more coming, right? Right?!

Wow, the artist really gave Leila a major boobie upgrade from the original comic. She went from a Japanese C to a Japanese F cup just like that. Zenovi's such a lucky dog!...err Wolf, lucky wolf. But I agree with the need to move the romance along. If they don't its gonna end up like Taylor and Nova in Beneath the Planet of the Apes. Where just as Nova learns to talk to Taylor she as she gets killed without uttering how much she loves him. I would hate to see that happen to Zenovi. Oh, almost forgot, the new "fan service" Zenovi is definitely very chisseled and buff. When he's not being with Leila he's obviously hittin up the beast-man gym a lot.

Except part 7 and 8 which is in a book. It's 400 yen on amazon jp and contains part 1 through 8.
As for the translation, it seems safe to say that the original translator no longer has any interest in continuing.
