@strawtea, that's a good way to put it. For the most part, narrow eyes and smaller irises in anime/manga drawings are usually meant to give characters a tougher, more serious appearance. In this case it makes Takao look kind of pouty or bitchy (don't mean that in a rude way). Normally one would expect it to be difficult to get any kind reaction out of a character like that, but when she does act shy, surprised or embarrassed, it's really endearing and attractive (and arousing of course). It's the stark contrast in her appearance and emotions that get you.
