lol wtf i just read? Some self righteous version of Japan history book for lessons in Japan history in school?

So the next century of Japan as the new generation strive to archive is as naked as her? Nice boobs though... Nice art.

Azure Century is a right-wing nationalist's wet dream. It is revisionist history of World War II, with cute girls layered on top.. sort of like a softer version of Konpeki no Kantai. It's a doujinshi series that's been going on for YEARS now, I've seen volumes of it at Toranoana going back 7-8 years ago and even then it was in the dozens. Interestingly, some volumes have actually been published bilingual- JP/EN in Japan. I suspect it's never been scanlated as a whole because there aren't enough tits in it.

@Randomoose: 1905. World War 2. ???

I kid I kid. You said there's more so I dont doubt thats the others one.

I guess the whole point of the "cute girls layered on top" is to get young people(more likely young men) to buy it.

well, I've seen Winston Churchill*** on the cover of some volumes, and what look like various other historic leaders.. so really it could be anything from 1900 to the 1940s..

IIUC , this doujinshi may be considered to be right-wing . However , it's an alternative history fantasy . So I don't think it's necessary to be so harsh.
It's kinda atonement that they try to say - - "If we don't do things wrong , maybe there will be a better world."
And I must say its story is much more rational than Konpeki no Kantai.

It's based on an AH history that Sakamoto Ryoma survived after the assassination launched by Kyoto Mimawarigumi (city guards of Kyoto , which is the capital of Japan back then.)
This is a huge influence since that Sakamoto Ryoma is a pioneering person who adopted lots of western ideas , and the Kaientai (海援隊) is a real organization that existed and founded by Sakamoto Ryoma to protect the merchant vessels . It is also famous that he asked Kishuhan (a dukedom in Japan) to compensate the lost of merchants by citing "Elements of International Law."

In this series, due to the ones like Sakamoto Ryoma aren't killed , the revolutionists pushed Japan Empire to become more westernized , so the "Black Ships Incident" never happened . And Japan Empire became a constitutional monarchy country like UK or Denmark. Furthermore , the "Taisho Democracy" last longer than the real history .

Someone may argue that in real history the Japan join the Allied Powers in WWI, so this series will end up like the reality that Japan will join Axis Power.
This is not quite real; in the very 1st ep. , authors already implied that they will stand along with Anti-fascism allies . (The whole story started from a flash back of main characters, so we know that in advance. )

BTW , the leading male character, Rinoie Narumi, is actually a dethroned prince of Joseon Dynasty of Korea Empire.
And the leading female character , Suzuki Hozumi, is born from the most controversial and mostly hatred dukedom in Japan . (You may consider that to be the Bavaria of Germany.)
So I don't think that authors were trying to make themselves (Japanese) look great and merciful in this series.

Somehow , I'm not Japanese , instead , I'm Taiwanese . The comment above may come from my biases . So if someone want to point out the fault I made , just bring it on.
At last , I have all the existing episodes , if anyone want the scan . Leave a comment and I'll do the scan if I have time .

@jackofalltrade:
I'm terribly sorry that I'm occupied until October.
I won't be able to do the scan then.

If you're finding the doujinshi , maybe you can try Suruga-ya(駿河屋) or Mandarake(まんだらけ).
However, everyone knows that they Japnese don't ship this kind of stuffs overseas (law issues , long story), so you need to find a forwarder to deal with it.
Regarding the English version issue , the best offers are the 3 doujinshi version collections ("総集篇" in Kanji ,these 3 collections covers from ep1 to ep9 and interquels 1,2) .
Almost all the "doujinshis" that Firstspear made are dual language dubbed, but the CR コミックス printed versions are Japanese only.

I want the scan to this series please. Been trying to find the English version of the whole series for a while now. Even if it is in Japanese I still take it too.

@EndlessDarkness
I have try searching around, but luck doesn't seems to be on my side. I have been trying to find forwarder for past months, but can't seems to find anyone who's willing to help ship to me.
I wouldn't mind waiting for you to scan it on the web if it's still possible to do so.

For anyone who is still interested in this series, the first two issues are now availabe in ebook form in the Kindle store, in english, as of this post. The translation has some issues, but it is now available to read. As far as I know, the series ended after 17 issues, late in 2017 for the bilingual editions so hopefully the rest will be released in ebook form fairly quickly. Support the author!
