Even more tragic, the producers had intended for the youthful cast to go for a third season where-upon they would fight side-by-side their elders in the Justice League in an epic-tier, all-out war for the Earth from a full-scale invasion by the forces of Apokalips and Darkseid. But the series was cancelled after the alien invasion of season #2.

The "problem" with why Young Justice was cancelled was that the show was "too smart" for most audiences. It had complex characters, richly detailed plots, and a mature theme of "youth growing up."

This unfortunately, is far beyond what most television audiences of that age bracket can comprehend. Easier to go with less-smart, lower common denominator shows like Annoying Orange >_< .

You want another sad example? Teen Titan, Go! Taking the Teen Titans' cartoon (which was also good), and blended it with Family Guy level gutter humor. -_-

Well, my boner got killed almost immediately after they dropped Wally's name. Mostly because it's a reminder of the saddest cliffhanger that will most likely never get resolved. :/

Also, just to add to the above guy's post about cancelling the show, the main reason was also because the Young Justice toys didn't sell well. Which is horseshit, they've barely advertised them at the time.
