Lina is a girl with a relatively small frame, petite boobs, and a spunky energetic attitude. While I don't have anything against women of other body/character types, for the love of god, why can't they at least try to choose the actresses with characteristics similar to the original?!

Because it's usually the "actress" choosing the character they want to cosplay as, not the other way around. Her stature is not something she can alter for the shoot. So the question becomes, should a girl who is a big Lina-fan not be permitted to cosplay as her favourite character just because she is tall (and not 15 years old?)
Besides which, this model is not especially busty anyways, so I'm not sure why you listed that as a discrepancy.

For my part, when an attractive girl puts on an outfit from one of my long-time favourite animes from my youth... and then proceeds to take it all off for me... rather than nit-pick the minor things that don't perfectly match the old show, I am simply GRATEFUL! Consider that something may be wrong with you that you are not.
