@Aspada: Because it is easy to develop a story with using stereotypes. Make a scenario, put a plot that fits in it, then put the characters like if they were pieces of an imaginary chessboard and stablish the relationships between them, do some changes untill all makes sense in some way. The more complexity you throw in it, the more time you need to explain it. In almost all cases you have a maximum number of pages or episodes to do it. If you made it too complex, you will not be able to explain all of it, ending with a hollow and shallow sensation or it could go in the opposite way, too dense and compacted.
