Yet another artist defaults to anime garbage instead of learning how to do it right. It's a shame because unlike something else I've screamed at recently, there is potential here. Go find some anatomy textbooks, work on perspective and drop the anime influences until drawing a normal person becomes second nature. That's when you can stylize.

Also it's nice to see you're hiding behind the "it's my style" defense. Anime style itself is not the problem, the problem is you've been arting for 7 years if your deviantArt is anything to go by and your anime-style drawings are still poor quality. As for your "western style" I saw your sketches of beefcake and they have basic anatomy and perspective errors and don't look human. To say that you've been doing this all your life and that is as good as you can get it is...

You've built your house on sand and continue to add new floors as each one sinks into the sand beneath you. Yeah you might get better at the layers but you're still stuck in a sinking one story house.

Your art will never look right until you realize you need to go back to the basics. The very basics.

I understand the criticisms towards this comic's art style. It's not perfect, I know that. However, anime is the only style that would work for this comic, as it draws heavily from JRPG and anime influences. A western style for this comic would be ridiculous. As to my own shortcomings as an artist, well... I'm always drawing and I'm always improving. Since I have no immediate plans to drop this comic, you can expect to see it improve with time, as well.

If you want to see me draw in other styles, though, visit my blog at nearhentai.blogspot.com. I use a variety of styles for different images, based on the subject matter. I do western comic art, stylized art, and other anime pieces. I don't have a set style for myself, so I borrow others based on what I think is appropriate for what I'm drawing.

In response to the Dragon Pink comparisons, I think those are fair. The opening scene is a direct reference to that franchise, because I'm aware of the similarities. In fact, Wars' color scheme was also directly inspired by Santa's. Originally he was a lot... browner. However, as the story progresses, I think you'll find that it has less and less in common with Dragon Pink as time goes on. We are still in chapter three, thanks largely to my horrendous update schedule.

Thanks to everyone who has shown their support. While this comic primarily exists as a place for me to hone my craft while also telling a story I like; it's all worth it if there are people who enjoy it. I'll do my best to to continue to produce something you can all enjoy.

eduardolok - Hey, man, thank you so much for your interest in the comic. I'd totally love to see a Portuguese translation, but if you're anxious to see more pages because you're waiting for it to be done, then you're in for a long sit I'm afraid. There's currently no plans for a concrete ending to this comic, I intend to just keep producing pages for it as long as I'm drawing (probably until I die or develop arthritis or something). I would definitely like to produce more pages faster, though, and I appreciate the encouragement. :)

@wyrm22 - While you're not entirely wrong, I did look to Yamatogawa for help in pinning down a style towards the end of this comic, you're throwing around the word "traced" pretty liberally there.
