"Mind-Numbingly Stupid" That more or less describes almost all hentai, but I must agree that it is far more blatant in darker hentai works. Virtually all NTR, Rape, Blackmail, Abuse, and Exploitation stories are ridiculously dumb. And while many Vanilla works are much the same I believe they are generally considered more acceptable because all parties get a 'Happy End'. While in dark hentai the presence of the 'Bad End' makes certain characters unacceptably stupid for willingly going along with the plot. There is also the Sheep/Wolf argument where the reader either identifies with the victim or the transgressor. Those who identify with the 'victim' tend to be socially well adjusted human beings, while those who identify with the transgressor tend to be the minority of the population with the A-Social or criminal mentality.

This actually makes for a rather interesting study in cultural mores, taboos, and laws. Though I have doubts any self respecting professor would accept any term paper based on the study of hentai porn... except at Berkley.
