To be fair the character coloring is good, the backgrounds however are horrendous, just by looking the 14 page I knew I was in for some eye-raping.

I see nothing wrong with coloring. I don't even think the backgrounds are that bad; I mean the RAW had black and white nothingess. Possibly keeping the backgrounds in the RAW black and white might have been better, but really, I don't see where's the hate coming from. Coloring is fine, I say - I'd rather go on the limb and say that the RAW was poor; neither the original art nor the "story" seem very good to me.

Nice try... but, no. Learn how to shade and highlight properly first, and learn how shadows and diffusive lighting works second, THEN color manga to your heart's content.

(Not to mention in this case where the [color] cover is by the same artist, you should always mimic THEIR style before going your own way.)

the coloring is fine but jesus christ are the colors themselves bad, it looks like one of those colorful Disney character colorings.
do you mind toning it down? it almost hurts my eyes...

the skin colors are good, the problem is the background, clothes and hair (sometimes)

Wow, that is some decent coloring...I can not complain at all because I just would have used ms paint and it would have been horrible. I can not find anything that stopped me from enjoying this, so kudos to you!
