Humm, well i can't say that i like it when they gender bend someone/thing and then simply expect everyone to know who that character is... how was i to know she's a boy in the original series? From my perspective there is zero genderbending going on and the only reason i know that there is, is from the comments of others.

Would be nice if the artist included a panel or two about "why" she's a girl now or something...or even that she used to be a boy.. SOMETHING to let the readers know. Even a quick comment about an alternate universe where things turned out differently.

@ Sadarsa - Pitou is almost always female in fanart, and this doujin is actually a few years old, before it become generally accepted that Pitou is male. Originally it was thought that Pitou was a tomboy

Also I agree with the genderbender thing, I would prefer people do not use that tag as its misleading for people without background knowledge on the series.

Pitou is a gender ambiguous. Any instance of Pitou being called male or female is a mistranslation or intentional wrongful translation such as unofficial scanalations.

You're free to have your opinion but it doesn't mean shit in public discussion. Unless Togashi comes right out and says it, it will remain unknown cause that ant is super dead. Anime Pitou having "breasts" and it having a female voice doesn't change that. Anime does that shit all the time.

Manga writers make these characters to troll people. Caring about whether Pitou is a male or female outside of your worthless opinion just proves you fell for it.

@SeedySkies Pitou is the same in both the manga and the anime: she has breast, female features, female background, female behavior in the manga. the anime has just used the latest manga design, you don't have to consider Pitou's first design in the manga, Togashi took 8 years to do this arc. And we saw that there's at least one female chimera ant in each ranks of the ants. So it's perfectly logical for Pitou to be female.
