Mike, "stitched" means the picture is composed of multiple screen caps that have been pieced together.

Most of these images are probably from anime scenes in which the camera pans across the image. The entire picture is never visible at once on the screen, but by "stitching" together screens taken at different points during the pan you can recreate the full image.
