The more recent comic and film adaptations have introduced a black Nick Fury (and admittedly Sameul L Jackson makes an awesome NF). there's enough debates about that casting choice elsewhere that we don't need to rehash it here.

the recent marvel movies seem to allusion the ultimateverse where Nick Fury is indeed black and modeled after Samuel L Jackson. I also like the cover for this gallery except I'd trade Scarlet Witch for She-Hulk anyday...but they have Ms. Marvel so it gets a pass.
