Looks like there's quite a debate here. Well, here's my own contribution, I suppose.

My basic definition of Netorare:

Netorare involves at least three characters. Let's call them Girl, Guy A, and Guy B.

So the story begins with Guy A and Girl being together. In order for this to be a good netorare, they should have a good relationship.

Guy B comes along and rapes Girl (the girl has to be [at least somewhat] unwilling at first) and Girl eventually gets addicted in some sort of way that she can't stop. This begins her "willingness" when she cheats. She then continues cheating unbeknownst to guy A. It doesn't matter at this point who she cheats *with*, it just matters that she was unwilling at first and that she was broken to become willing.

This is what I define as "Netorare". 「寝取られ」 "To be stolen from while sleeping". Guy A is "sleeping" (this is more metaphorical but sometimes it's literal with the Girl cheating on Guy A while he's sleeping) while he has the Girl taken from him.

Whether or not the girl leaves the guy is actually up to how much damage you want. It doesn't matter at this point whether Guy A finds out about it or not and has his own mindbreak, if she leaves him, or actually says "I still love you but I can't have sex with you", that's all secondary. The primary action is the "being taken from".

To encompass all cheating into "Netorare" has two problems:

1) They already are different terms.
2) This means that people who want the whole "unwilling partner broken into willing partner" aspect can't find it as easily anymore. (If I wanted regular cheating, I'd look up cheating. I want netorare, not cheating.)

And, also, as far as I can tell, the Japanese conception of 寝取られ (Netorare) hasn't really shifted. Whenever soemthing is explicitly labeled as NTR, it usually involves what I just described. Hope that clears everything up. (Basically, my argument comes down to this: "Type B" 寝取られ is the *true* 寝取られ.)

If you want to know good NTR, then I suggest Magono-Tei (aka Carn), Takeda Hiromitsu, or Nagare Ippon. You know it's good NTR when you swing between RAGE and despair.

(Besides, this fails at the 取られる part of 寝取られ since she isn't really "taken" from him at all. She's more dumb than anything so that I find these "cheating" situations more lulzy than RAGE worthy.)
